Half-Speed Masters

Half-speed mastering cuts the record with the source and the cutting lathe both running at half their normal speed. That gives the cutting head more time to trace detail, so many listeners hear a cleaner, more open top end. Half-speed masters are usually 180g audiophile pressings.
