About the artist
American rock band founded in New York City in 1973, by Tom Verlaine (vocals, guitar), Richard Lloyd (guitar), Richard Hell (bass) and Billy Ficca (drums). In 1975, Hell was replaced by Fred E. Smith.
After releasing two albums, they disbanded in 1978. They reunited between 1991 and 1993, releasing a third album. Their second reunion took place in 2001. Lloyd departed in 2007, with Television playing until Verlaine's death in 2023.
