About the artist

Magazine were an English post-punk band from Manchester originally active from 1977 to 1981.

The band was formed by Howard Devoto and John McGeoch, after the former left Buzzcocks in early 1977. Devoto had decided to create a more progressive and less "traditional" rock band. The band recorded 3 albums before McGeoch left to join Siouxsie & The Banshees. Magazine released one more album, before Devoto quit the band in 1981.

The group reunited from 2009 to 2011, releasing one more album. McGeoch was not a part of the reunion, as he had passed away in 2004, aged 48.
